Alton Shader.

ALTON SHADER

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Alton Shader leads the development and execution of Viant’s business strategy, spearheading the Company’s continuing expansion and driving accelerated growth. Joining Viant in 2019, Alton brings more than 20 years of global medical device leadership experience to the team and is highly regarded for driving growth across a range of companies. As President of Hill-Rom’s global Front Line Care business, which includes Welch Allyn, he established the company’s fastest-growing and most profitable global business. He achieved similar results when he led Hill-Rom’s North America region. Prior to joining Hill-Rom, Alton held a number of senior positions at Baxter International in Europe and the US including General Manager of its North America Renal business. In his most recent role, Alton served as President and CEO Of Vein Clinics of America. Alton earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and psychology from Claremont McKenna College and master’s degree in business administration from Stanford University.

NINO GILARDE

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Nino Gilarde brings over 25 years of strategic financial management experience to the Viant Leadership Team. Over his career, he has held executive positions providing leadership and financial expertise in working capital management, cost accounting, mergers and acquisitions, investor relations, and audit management.

Nino joined Viant in 2018. Previously, he was Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for OrthoLite. Prior to that, he served as CFO for Vention Medical, where he had responsibility for all financial activity including accounting, information services, controllership, risk management, acquisitions, and restructuring activities. He has also held financial leadership positions at Tyco Healthcare and Covidien. Nino earned an MBA from Suffolk University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Boston University. He also serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees for the St. Columbkille Partnership School in Boston.

SEAN CROWLEY

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Sean Crowley oversees the operations of Viant’s worldwide facilities and leads the company’s operational excellence, supply chain management, and engineering initiatives. Sean joined Viant in 2018 with more than 20 years of global operations and supply chain experience. Previously, he served as vice president of global operations for the Medtronic Minimally Invasive Therapies Group, where he led supply chain, engineering, and manufacturing operations for 29 manufacturing facilities supporting $7.5 billion of revenue. Prior to that, he worked in manufacturing and operational excellence at Xerox Corp. He began his career as an officer in the U.S. Army. Sean has a master’s degree in engineering and global operations management from Clarkson University and a bachelor’s degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point. He is a Master Black Belt in Six Sigma and a Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma.

ANDY REDING

CHIEF COMMERCIAL OFFICER

Andy Reding leads Viant’s commercial functions, including building customer partnerships, providing innovative solutions, and driving future growth with the goal of producing the highest-quality, life-enhancing medical devices in the world. He brings more than 25 years of customer-facing experience in the medical device space. He also partnered with contract manufacturing services companies in the development, launch, and production of several products. Most recently, Andy was Vice President & General Manager at Hillrom Respiratory Health, where he led the sales, marketing, customer service, R&D, reimbursement, and third-party billing functions. Before that, Andy served in senior leadership roles at Trumpf Medical Systems, Smith+Nephew, and Berchtold Corp. In each of these roles, his teams drove significant growth with a customer and patient-first culture. Andy has an MBA from the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina and a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University.

GREG KAYATA

CHIEF HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER

Greg Kayata leads Viant’s global human resources function including associate engagement, compensation and benefits, talent management and retention, as well as performance management. Greg came to Viant in 2018 with over 30 years of human resources leadership experience, and eleven in the medical device space. Previously he served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Acelity where he led the global human resources function including total rewards, organizational development, learning, HRMS and talent acquisition. Prior to that role, he held various leadership roles at Covidien and Tyco Healthcare (now part of Medtronic) where he oversaw the corporate total rewards function after leading the human resources function for a global business unit. Previously, he spent more than twenty years with Invensys (now part of Schneider) and General Dynamics in a variety of progressively responsible human resources roles. He has a master’s degree in industrial relations from the University of New Haven and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Providence College.

DECLAN SMYTH

PRESIDENT, FRANCHISE

Declan Smyth is responsible for setting Viant’s strategic direction to ensure we meet the needs of the markets and customers we serve. He has significant knowledge of the medical device industry, including engineering and manufacturing components, assemblies, finished devices, and enabling platform technologies. He brings a strong engineering background, combined with expertise in technology and operations. Declan joined Viant in 2018. Previously, he spent more than 15 years with Integer in executive leadership, marketing, operational and engineering management roles within the Advanced Surgical business. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Harvard University and is certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

MARK ALLEN

PRESIDENT, ORTHOPLASTICS

Mark Allen leads Viant’s Orthoplastics operations in the UK, the leading supplier of premium-grade orthopedic ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) for orthopedic medical devices. Mark joined Viant in 2013 through the acquisition of Orthoplastics, where he served as Technical Director. Previously, he was a polymer research technologist at Rapra Technology (now known as Smithers Rapra) with more than 10 years of service across diverse markets, including the medical device industry. He earned a bachelor’s degree in polymer science and technology and additional credentials in production and mechanical engineering. He is a member of the Orthopedic Research Society and a committee member of the American Society for Testing and Materials.

TRISH ALBERT

CORPORATE VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL COUNSEL

Trish Albert is responsible for Viant’s legal affairs, including overseeing the company’s corporate governance, contracts, compliance, intellectual property, and business policy. Trish brings 20 years of legal experience to her role. Previously, she served as Vice President and Corporate Counsel for Vention Medical (formerly known as Advanced Polymers). Prior to that, she was an attorney with a law firm in Nashua, New Hampshire. She earned a bachelor’s degree in History and English from the University of Southern Maine and a JD from Suffolk University Law School.

DAVE ROSE

CORPORATE VICE PRESIDENT OF QA/RA
CHIEF COMPLIANCE OFFICER

Dave Rose leads the evolution of Viant’s quality and regulatory functions. He sets the direction for our commitment to providing quality medical devices and components and maintaining compliance with all quality and regulatory requirements. Dave brings more than 25 years of medical device manufacturing experience to this role. Most recently, he was Senior Quality Director at Becton Dickinson, where he oversaw Peripheral Interventional Division manufacturing sites. Before that, he served in senior leadership roles at Getinge (Maquet Medical Systems), Delcath Systems, Navilyst Medical (Boston Scientific), and Tyco Healthcare. Dave is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt and is certified in Lean Manufacturing. He has a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Boston College.
