Robust Tool Development Process
Viant employs a rigorous, detailed approach to mold manufacturing, achieving outstanding results during tool development and through the life cycle of your injection mold.
Design
Our engineers apply a Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) approach to ensure your project is optimized for both quality and efficiency. Viant’s Tooling team identifies and addresses potential challenges early on, offering design enhancements to set your project up for long-term success.
Analyze
We use industry accepted predictive analysis tools like SolidWorks™ and Autodesk™ Moldflow Simulation to analyze your tool before fabrication, allowing us to proactively identify and mitigate risks, ensuring smooth performance after fabrication.
Qualify
After fabricating your tool, we conduct a thorough four-hour burn-in process to ensure all systems operate as intended. We fine-tune output timing and verify that the tool meets part-to-print specifications. A robust custom tooling manual guides your program, ensuring that all tool and product requirements are met. Once we complete these steps, your tool is officially qualified.
Validate
Following the tool burn-in, our team conducts a First Article Inspection (FAI). We also analyze your tool’s capability data, gauge repeatability, reproducibility, installation quality, operational quality and production quality to ensure everything meets our high standards.
Manufacture
Once validated, your tool is seamlessly transitioned into production. We conduct a final Critical to Quality (CTQ) check to ensure it’s ready for routine part production for each lot.
