Weekend Warrior


Under the direction of the area supervisor or team leader, the Weekend Warrior is responsible for production work on the weekends according to specifications and established policies, procedures, practices, and standards.


  • Assemble components
  • May be required to operate packaging machine
  • Bar sealing/tray sealing
  • Box products and apply labeling materials
  • May be required to perform some specialized skills requiring a minimum degree of technical aptitude
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as defined by Viant policies, practices, and procedures to meet FDA and ISO regulations and quality standards
  • Participate in Rapid Improvement Events
  • Follow all safety rules
  • Follow area 5S expectations
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • One year of work experience
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow specification sheets
  • Basic mathematical skills to understand tolerances and variation
  • Ability to use measuring devices and hand tools
  • Positive teamwork attitude


  • High school diploma or GED


  • Excellent vision and hand-eye coordination
  • Extended periods of bending, lifting, standing, and sitting
  • Significant use of hands
  • Frequently required to lift up to 35 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able and willing to wear personal protective equipment as required including:
    • Protective eyewear
    • Ear plugs
    • Hair net
    • Protective gowning (lab coat, hood, shoe covers)


  • Worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as:
    • Preparing and analyzing data and figures
    • Transcribing
    • Viewing a computer screen
    • Extensive reading
    • Visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operating machines
    • Using measurement devices
    • Assembly or fabrication of parts at distance close to the eyes


Some of the Weekend Warrior’s responsibilities and duties are performed on the production floor and/or in the warehouse of a manufacturing plant that can be hot in summer, cold in winter, hazardous, noisy, and dusty. The worker may be subject to:

  • Inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change
  • Noise: Sufficient noise to cause a worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise
  • Vibration: Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body
  • Hazards: A variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals
