2nd Shift Operators - 33rd Street

POSITION TITLE: Technical Operator

SHIFT HOURS:  2:30pm-10:30pm

DEPARTMENT: Production

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

Under the director of the area Supervisor, responsible for production work according to specifications and established policies, procedures, practices and standards.

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follows all SOP’s, GMP’s, GDP’s and DOI’s
  • Assembles components
  • May be required to operate packaging machine
  • Performs bar sealing/tray sealing duties
  • Boxes products and applies labeling materials
  • Performs pad printing duties
  • Assembles and inspect components with tight tolerances, complex and miniature geometry
  • Operates laser and resistance welding equipment
  • Inspects and assembles components under magnification
  • Uses advanced dexterity required to work with very small/miniature components and equipment
  • Performs equipment intensive assembly processes, makes adjustments if required and authorized by procedures
  • Retains complex assembly process instructions once taught, does not require frequent retraining
  • Follows all safety procedures as required by internal and external guidelines and policies
  • Maintains and follows 5s principles in all work areas at all times
  • Participates in rapid improvement events

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge/Education:

  • High school or equivalent education or job-related training required
  • High School diploma and equivalent certification preferred

Job Experience:

  • One year external manufacturing work experience
  • Technical training or specialized on the job training preferred

Skills/Competencies:

  • Ability to read, understand and follow specification sheets
  • Basic mathematical skills to understand tolerance and variation
  • Ability to use measuring devices and hand tools
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Basic understanding of hand tools (allen wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.)
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated and organized
  • Ability to clearly communicate any concerns or issues back to support staff verbally and written
  • Strong communication skills with Production Supervisor
  • Displays a positive attitude

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent bending/ lifting, twisting, standing and significant use of hands
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Excellent vision and hand-eye coordination
  • Must be able and willing to wear personal protective equipment as required including:
    • Protective eyewear
    • Ear plugs
    • Hair net
    • Protective gowning (lab coat, hood, shoe covers)
