Material Handler 2nd Shift


The Material Handler Is responsible for coordinating the movement of parts from storage areas to the assembly line.


  • Confer with supervisors to coordinate flow of materials or products into kitting or CER via kanban or pick list
  • Assist team members with material handling and receiving activities as directed by supervisor or team leader
  • Communicate with appropriate personnel any potential shortages and/or future inventory projections
  • Provide accurate documentation for inventory control
  • Read production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority
  • Pull and stage material for production use
  • Perform cycle counts
  • Provide assistance for on-the-job coaching/training of new employees and cross-training current employees
  • Process inventory transactions in computer database relating to jobs, scrap, testing, cycle counts, etc.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate team members to achieve 100% customer satisfaction
  • Maintain accurate inventory control and records
  • Participate and provide input for process improvement programs
  • Follow all safety procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Minimum of 2 years inventory control or material handling experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Written and oral communications skills sufficient to speak clearly and distinctly, write compound and complex sentences, and read simple instructions in English
  • Expanded basic arithmetic calculations (add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals)
  • Basic computer skills: Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Good judgment in investigating and resolving problems
  • Ability to maintain neat, orderly work area


  • High school diploma or GED


  • Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous day-to-day activities of a primarily productive nature (lifting 60 pounds/carrying 25 pounds)
  • Moderate lifting, carrying, bending, pushing/pulling, climbing, and prolonged standing
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and material
  • Ability to identify and distinguish colors
  • Ability to judge distance and spatial relationships (i.e. visualize objects of multiple dimensions)
  • Ability to handle chemicals safely and confidently
  • Ability to use protective clothing/devices as outlined in procedures


  • Standard office computer, pallet jack, and fork lift


  • Worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as:
    • Preparing and analyzing data and figures
    • Transcribing
    • Viewing a computer screen
    • Extensive reading
    • Visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operating machines
    • Using measurement devices
    • Assembly or fabrication of parts at distance close to the eyes


  • Well-lighted, air-conditioned, indoor laboratory/production setting with adequate ventilation
