Maintenance Technician


Responsible for maintaining facilities by ensuring all facilities and plant equipment are functioning, clean, orderly, attractive, and compliant with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will perform minor and routine building maintenance tasks and arrange for equipment upkeep and repair.


  • Maintain major facility systems and infrastructure including computerized building control and monitoring systems, power and lighting systems, compressed gasses and vacuum, air supply and ventilation, deionized (DI) water systems, and plumbing and sanitary facilities
  • Maintain the parking lots, stairwells, and walkways
  • Maintain exterior grounds, including removing fallen yard debris; trimming and pruning shrubs and trees; picking up garbage in yard; removing snow in parking lot, around office, and in other public areas
  • Handle all aspects of facility maintenance and repair in an efficient and independent manner, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, etc.
  • Perform carpentry repair; construction; and installation of building equipment, fixtures, and other capital improvement projects efficiently and independently
  • Assist in moving, hooking up, and placing machines as requested
  • Follow all safety requirements
  • Move office furniture, computers, etc. as requested
  • Monitor office equipment and perform, arrange for, and oversee repairs by appropriate technicians
  • Instruct new employees on the proper use of security badges and related building access and equipment
  • Monitor the temperature throughout the facility, making needed adjustments to maintain the comfort of employees
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management


  • Electrical and mechanical aptitude
  • 3-5 years of experience with carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and maintenance repair


  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree in relevant field and/or certification/license in electrical, HVAC, plumbing and/or industrial training/experience, including a thorough understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems


  • Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects


  • Worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as:
    • Preparing and analyzing data and figures
    • Transcribing
    • Viewing a computer screen
    • Extensive reading
    • Visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operating machines
    • Using measurement devices
    • Assembly or fabrication of parts at distance close to the eyes


  • Worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change
  • Worker is subject to outside environmental conditions: No effective protection from the weather
  • Worker is subject to extreme hot or cold: Temperature typically below 32 degrees for more than one hour with environmental conditions such as wind and humidity
  • Worker is subject to extreme heat: Temperature above 100 degrees for more than one hour with environmental conditions such as wind and humidity
  • Worker is subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause a worker to shout to be heard above ambient noise level
  • Worker is subject to vibration: Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body
  • Worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat, or exposure to chemicals
  • Worker is subject to oils: There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids
  • Worker is frequently in close quarters that could aggravate claustrophobia: crawl spaces, shafts, manholes, small, enclosed rooms, small sewage and water line pipes, and other areas
  • Worker is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways
