2nd Shift Supervisor

HOURS:                                    3 PM to 11:30 PM

REPORTS TO:                          OPERATIONS MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • A shift supervisor assigns tasks to subordinate employees, makes sure that all operations run smoothly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assigns tasks to employees.
  • Oversees closing of facility.
  • Works with supervisors on production requirements
  • Monitors employee work habits and makes sure tasks are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Conducts performance reviews.
  • Writes up reports of employee behavior.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized.
  • Motivates employees for strong work performances.
  • Responds quickly and practically to emergencies, crises, or unexpected problems during the shift.
  • Turn in KANBAN cards and distribute material coming from inventory
  • Works with other supervisors to insure daily production and/or sales goals are met.
  • Pull inventory items from inventory when needed
  • Oversees all training during his or her shift
  • Processes paperwork for HR or upper management as needed
  • Support and promote continuous improvement activities
  • Provide explanation and follow up resolutions to daily labor variances making suggestions when necessary

  • Work in conjunction with production planning to follow job schedule and assign staff to jobs based on training and experience. Suggest overtime to management as required to support job schedules
  • Provide leadership and direction to assigned area of responsibility ensuring quality standards are met and production standards achieved
  • Insure that staff follows all processes and instructions as dictated by work orders and quality procedures
  • Ensure employees comply with all safety policies and safe work procedures established by the company
  • Team Lead provides input to the performance appraisal process for those individuals on their team
  • To be able to communicate effectively with team members.
  • Be able to report out monthly accomplishments to management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-7 years Manufacturing Management experience required
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) required
  • Familiarity with Oracle preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with machining operations
  • Problem solving skills
